A lady had a beautiful black cat, Midnight, who spent his days outside and came indoors at night.

One crisp fall evening he disappeared.

Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.
正当妻子准备开动的时候，罐子的盖子轻轻地升起来了一点，盖子又落下去前她只看到两只亮晶晶的小眼睛正四处看。
“Good grief, did you s

He hasnt, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.
